Camors, Southern Brittany, France
Our Holiday Home in Brittany
The Acacias is a detached traditional Breton 4 bedroom, 3 bath/shower rooms, stone house located in Camors which is set in the Forest of Camors in Morbihan, Southern Brittany. The stone walls are
up to 1 metre thick which helps to keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter. The large garden is mainly laid to lawn with established trees covering about one third which provides cool
dappled shade for barbeques held in the heat of the day.
Located on the outskirts of Camors near the market town of Auray, the Acacias offers the perfect setting for exploring Southern Brittany. It's a short walk from the centre of Camors, a small town set in the Forest of Camors with a choice of restaurants, bars, a news agent/tobacconist, Post Office, pharmacy, small shops, saboutier, tennis and an Adventure Park in the forest.
Auray with it's old port of St Goustan lies 12 miles south. The sheltered beaches of Carnac or the surfing beaches on the Quiberon peninsula are a further 8 miles. In the high season the quieter back roads to beaches between Locmariaquer and the sailing centre at La Trinite-sur-Mer and between Plouharnel and Gavres or Port Louis are a good alternative.
There are stunning views from the footpaths bordering the coast, the river estuaries and the Golfe de Morbihan, perfect settings for sailing, surfing, wind surfing, canoeing, walking or cycling.
There are several golf courses nearby including the French championship course at Golf de St Laurant.
